Dental fear/phobia?
Don't be. Come and try it out for yourself!
In most cases, there will be no pain or extremely minimal. Modern dentistry has evolved so much and in so many ways in recent years. There are many ways of managing potential pain, as well as anxiety.
Happy gas (Nitrous oxide, also known as Inhalational Sedation) is available on request. It helps to promote relaxation while producing a partial anaesthetic effect. It is safe, has virtually no side effect and wears off very quickly after the appointment.
We always use numbing cream prior to giving local anaesthetics.
Our dentists usually enjoy working with music, and are more than happy for you to bring your own favourite to share.
Alternatively, you are more than welcome to bring along your iPod/mp3 for plugging into your ears nice and tight, so that all those "outside noises" are minimised.
There are pictures on the ceiling which you may find helpful as a distraction tool.
Aromatherapy oil is regularly used in our treatment room to help create a more pleasant feeling.
Last but not least, we will always tell you what we plan to do, and give you as much information as you wish, so that surprises are minimised.
