Myofunctional Research Co.
Myofunctional Research Co (MRC) was founded in 1989 by Dr Chris Farrell (BDS Sydney) to develop an effective option for the growing child with orthodontic problems. The appliances designed, the TRAINER System(TM), and later on, the MYOBRACE System, aim to treat the underlying causes of crooked teeth and straighten the teeth by correcting poor oral habits such as poor lip seal, mouth breathing, tongue thrust and incorrect swallowing patterns. Without correcting those underlying causes, the chance of relapse after braces-based treatment tends to be higher. Ongoing, repeated incorrect pressures can easily move those teeth.
